Our Story
Valstar Electric, LLC is a premier electrical contractor serving Gainesville, Texas, and surrounding areas. Founded in 2016 by Scotty Thurman, a service-disabled veteran and Master Electrician with over 30 years of experience, our company embodies the principles of integrity, precision, and unwavering dedication.
After 10 years of military service in electronics and basic electric, Scotty returned to his hometown of Woodbine, TX to support local businesses before starting Valstar Electric. Today, we are proud to be a Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business serving our community with pride.

Scotty Thurman
President / Owner
Born and raised in Woodbine, TX. Master Electrician with over 30 years of experience and 10 years of military service in electronics. Graduated from Callisburg ISD in 1990 and served in the army beginning in 1991.
Christy Thurman
Vice President
Born and raised in The Woodlands, TX. Licensed Interior Designer with a degree from University of North Texas (1994). Over 20 years of experience in design management before joining the family business in 2019.
